Each accompanying person carries their own nonrefundable processing fee of US$15,000 and a further gift of US$1,000,000. A household of four applying together therefore faces four processing fees and, on the individual route, four times the one-million-dollar gift, subject to confirmation of current terms.
The arithmetic scales with the household
Families read the headline figure as a household price and it is a per-person price, which changes the decision entirely. Work it out explicitly before anything is committed. On the individual route the principal pays a processing fee and makes a gift of one million dollars; a spouse adds a further fee and a further million; each unmarried child under twenty-one does the same.
Hypothetical example: a couple near Saint-Joachim-de-Shefford with children aged fifteen and twenty-two calculate for four people and are then told the elder son does not qualify as an accompanying child at all, because the limit is twenty-one and unmarried. He is not covered by the family's application and needs a route of his own, which is a separate matter with a separate timetable. The younger child raises the opposite question, since a fifteen-year-old will pass twenty-one during a process that may run for years, and where that falls in the sequence is worth asking about early.
